    Social Enterprise for Canada is seeking candidates for the position of:
    School Age Program (WOODBRIDGE) – ECA/Enhanced Program Assistant

    The PA’s role is to assist the educators/providers in the child care setting with the inclusion of a child who has identified special needs.

    If you...

    • are able to work collaboratively with other team members to provide excellent customer service and support high quality School Age programs
    • have the ability to assist the child with inclusion within appropriate programs that value play and inquiry as a means to actively and intentionally support all areas of a child’s health, development and overall well-being
    • have a solid understanding of the Early Learning for Every Child Today, as well as, How does Learning Happen?
    • have a strong understanding of child physical/medical challenges which impact his/her mobility and self-care
    • Assist in resolving unsafe challenging behaviour which results in causing serious harm or injury to themselves or other and that may cause damage to the environment, disrupt group and may compromise the safety and supervision of themselves and others
    • Can plan for and evaluate child’s interactions and needs within the program with the ultimate goal being meeting the needs of the child
    • have a strong understanding of regulations and legislation in Early Childhood Development Programs
    • are knowledgeable about the community of York Region

    Location: Our Lady of Fatima CES,
    191 Crofter’s Rd. Woodbridge, On (Rutherford & Islington area)

    Hours: 10 hours per week, approximately $13.00 per hour
    (3:45-5:45 pm Monday to Friday). This position is a contract position with a 10 month term, renewal contingent on funding.
     Will be required to work 4 hours on all non-instructional days (e.g. PA days)
     Opportunity to pick up additional hours supplying during the day

    • Education:
       Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is preferred
      Technical Skills:
       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
      Related Experience:
       Additional languages an asset
       1- 2 years’ experience required
      Certifications:
       Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification required
       Current RECE Certification is an asset
       High Five certification is an asset
      Other Conditions of Employment:
       Recent Vulnerable Sector Screen; up to date immunization and 2 step TB Test;
       Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation required
       Will be required to attend meetings and/or trainings at various affiliated sites
